Jason's Birthday, Mother's Day, Etc...

May was full of activities, we've just been negligent on updating the blog!

Below is Jason's Birthday - Zach is helping out with unwrapping the gifts.  

For Mother's Day, Brenna chose to go to her favorite beach.  Unfortunately, she didn't know it is plover nesting/resting season (April-August!) and the state park was basically closed with the exception of a small rocky beach.  

Zach was the star in his classroom's production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar!  We were very proud.  The collaborative director placed a video on his blogsite and it can be found at the link below:

Last weekend was Winchester town day.  Zach got to climb into some equipment.  He was very excited.

April Vacation in NH with the Fraziers

We got to spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Frazier in April in NH.  As you can see from the pictures it was cold and snowy out (even snowing during our trip), but we persevered and still had fun!  We took in an indoor water park (hard to get good pictures) and went for a ride on the North Conway Scenic Railroad...

We saw a fierce wild animal at a state park near the base of Mt Washington.  We made sure to stay in the car with the windows up (other than tossing some trail mix in its direction)...

Then we found a cool park in Cambridge that had swings and something we'd never seen before which looked like a UFO/hubcap-shaped swing that Zach really seemed to enjoy.

All in all it was a great time and we were sad to let them leave, although I'm sure they were happy to return to warmer weather!

Easter at the Science Park

After a failed attempt at going to the Wenham Museum (closed for Easter) we went to the Gloucester West Parish Elementary Science Park.  Tucked into an Elementary School, this park was tons of fun.  Zach enjoyed egg salad at the park bench and then hit the fun stuff.  His favorite was the nauseating spinner (Jason & Zach are featured as I looked ill in my photos!).  Jason plans to bring his Endicott Physics students in the fall to learn about angular momentum.

We got the Dudley Egg Spinner for Easter egg decorating.  Zach liked the spinning.  We are ready for the Easter Bunny visit tomorrow.

Sledding

As you can tell from the photos, Zach didn't like sledding very much.  Although it may be his dad's fault.

Christmas in AZ (posted a little late!)

A few pictures of us finally visiting Arizona (Sedona, Jerome, Cottonwood and Phoenix), Zach's first trip there!

Blizzard of '13

Zach and us managed to survive the Blizzard of 2013 relatively unscathed.  There were 2 feet to shovel, but other than that, we came out ok!  Here's the before picture from yesterday, last night when we were less than halfway through, and the picture of him playing on the porch while we shoveled today.  Also, here's a picture of him relaxing on his Radio Flyer toy between outdoor sessions.
